FLORA IRENE (CLOTHIER) MYRON
August 31, 1918~ March 13, 2011
"She was a kind and loving person
who enjoyed her friends and family."

Flora went into the arms of the Lord on Sun., March 13th. She was born in Michigan and grew up in the Ellsworth area of Vancouver, WA with her parents Rosa Elizabeth (Fairbanks) and Herbert G. Clothier. She attended Union High School, class of 1935.
Flora worked for Fletcher-Daniels Abstract and Title Company in Vancouver and married Michael in 1942. She stayed home, raising her children and was active in the PTA at John Rogers School. She was a Camp Fire leader, a member of the Washington Grange and Independent Order of Foresters, the East Vancouver United Methodist Church, now called Vancouver Heights, where she recorded the attendance for over 25 years, and active member of Sarah's Circle.
She collected everything "Butterfly", with them covering nearly every surface of her room, including herself.
Flora crocheted afghan's and baby blankets for charity and helped collect school supplies for needy students. She was able to play most any song on the piano by "ear".
Flora spent the last two years of her life at the Golden Age Adult Family Home in Battle Ground, WA, under the loving care of Bella Bonifacio.
Flora is survived by her daughters: Carol Vogel (Dick) of Littleton, CO, Roberta Forbes (Bob) of Gresham, OR, and Mary Heuvel (Bill) of Battle Ground, WA; her beloved grandchildren: Angie Lawrence, Mike Forbes, Jill Forbes, Ben Heuvel, Andy Heuvel, and Emily Cornell; seven great-grandchildren, whom she adored; and her sister, JoAnn Jeremiah of Pacifica, CA.
Flora was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Michael; and her dear son, Timothy Michael (Timmy); her sisters, Ruth Scott, Doris Lane, Belva Watson; and brother, Warren Clothier.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Vancouver Heights United Methodist Church or the Hospice Care Program at Kaiser Permanente.
A Celebration of Life is Sat., March 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Viewing is Thurs., 12:00 noon to 9 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial is private. For more information see: www.evergreenmemorialgardens.com or sign Flora's guest book at www.columbian.com/obits.
