ETHEL MARIAN PETERSON
February 21, 1926 ~ April 4, 2018

Ethel Marian Peterson of Vancouver, WA, passed away April 4, 2018. She was born on Feb. 21, 1926 in Otter Tail County, Minnesota to Lawrence B. and Helma Lillemoen Anderson and moved to North Dakota at a young age where she lived on the family farm with her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Ethel loved riding horses and being outdoors.
She married Wallace Peterson on July 14, 1941 in a double ceremony in which Wallace's sister married Ethel's brother. They moved to Vancouver in 1952 with 3 young children and a year later had their 4th child.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, solitaire, visiting with friends and family and was voted Best Waitress in Vancouver in 1979!
Ethel's greatest joy in life was visiting with friends and family and she always had a kind word and an open heart. She always loved to make sure everyone was well fed and at times was accused of being a food pusher.
Ethel was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother, as well as "mom" to
everyone. She will be in our hearts forever
and missed by everyone whether family or friend.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Gail M. Smith of Tigard, OR; son, Daryl S. Peterson of Vancouver.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wallace Peterson; daughter, Linda Karukes; and son, Vernon Peterson.
A viewing will be held on Wed., April 11, from noon to 9p.m. and a memorial service will be held on Thurs., April 12, at 3:00 p.m., both at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Special thanks to Kaiser Hospice.
Donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
