EMMA ‘TILLIE’ SHAWCROSS
March 9, 1941 ˜ April 27, 2020
Emma Shawcross, 79, known as ‘Tillie’ to her family and friends, passed peacefully on April 27, 2020 at her home in Camas, WA, surrounded by family. She was born in Panama City, FL on March 9th, 1941, one of 7 children. Emma relocated to Camas, WA with her family in the early 70’s, where she stayed the remainder of her days.
Her passions were primarily focused on her family first and an assortment of hobbies ranging from bowling, avid book reading, golfing, gardening and volks-walking.
Emma’s sense of humor was admirable along with her continual commitment to doing the right thing. She was wise in her years and always gave good advice with a common sense approach to things.
Her career included working for Crown Zellerbach in the Bag Plant followed by a Quality Control Tester with Fiber Web, until her retirement, with over three decades of combined service.
Emma is survived by four children, Van Puckett of Tracy, CA, Frank Puckett (Judy) of Washougal, WA, Bonnie Vanlaeken (Tom) of Ridgefield, WA and Tia Hanke (Tim) of Washougal, WA; as well as (7) grandchildren and (9) great-grandchildren, whom will always “Luva, luva, luva you, Nana.” May she rest in peace in God’s Grace and we so look forward to seeing her in the afterlife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Shawcross, of which our family held great esteem for and his presence has been sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later point in time as our current social distancing takes temporary precedence with our lives today. Emma will be greatly missed and her love for her children and friends will always remain for all of you.
Her cremation followed her passing at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas, WA.
