August 10, 1945 ˜ February 24, 2021

Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather was born Aug. 10, 1945, to Winifred Ella Wiese and Earl Wilkins Smith and was raised in the Catholic church.
He graduated High School at Rosalia H.S. in 1963.
Paul was the oldest of two other siblings, Jane and David, and was blessed with seven children: Kimberly, Steven, Mariane, Clinton, Jeffrey, Summer and Fallon.
He started out as an apprentice mechanic in Spokane, WA. There he worked for a few years before moving to Vancouver, WA. While head quartered in Portland, OR, he worked all over the Pacific Northwest on logging and construction equipment including cleanup projects for the Mt. St. Helen’s eruption in 1980. Not long after, his work brought him to Southern California but returned back to the Pacific Northwest in 1991 where he eventually retired. He then moved south again to Tucson, AZ, in 2017 where he was able to enjoy his retirement without rain or snow until he was received in Heaven by God Feb. 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones and dear friends.
Paul’s works never tired as he remained active in many hobbies. Those include, collecting and building guns, Harleys, Samurai’s and race cars. He enjoyed hunting deer and elk, hanging with old friends and talking politics as he was a devout supporter of the Republican Party.
Paul was as tough as nails, with a heart of gold!
