DORIS MAE SARKKINEN
July 22, 1930 ~ March 18, 2018
Doris Mae Sarkkinen was born on July 22nd, 1930 to Louis and Hulda Rosenlund of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She passed away in Vancouver, WA on March 18, 2018 at the age of 87.
She was married to Wilfred on September 3rd, 1949 and resided in Minneapolis, MN until 1969 when they moved to Clark County, WA where she spent the remainder of her life. She enjoyed traveling to meetings and visiting christian friends. Doris was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Doris is survived by her 12 children: Joe (Sharon), Dick (Nancy), Douglas (Helen), Robert, Timothy (Anita), all of Battle Ground, WA, James (Brenda) and Bonnie Lipka (Jeff) of Yacolt, WA, William (Denise) of Toledo, WA, Paul of Spokane, WA, Gail Waatti (Matt) of Kalispell, MT, Donald (Michelle) of Woodland, WA and Marietta Kostenko (Kern) of Kennewick, WA, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Richard Rosenlund (MaryAnn) of Hancock, MI and John Rosenlund of Yacolt, WA, and a host of precious christian brothers and sisters in faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred, her daughter-in-law Jackie Sarkkinen, parents, three brothers, two sisters and a stillborn son.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the caregivers at Sequoia Heights for the past two years.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the funeral will be on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Lewisville, WA, at 32320 NE Lewisville Highway, Battle Ground, WA. Burial will be at Elim Cemetery.

Dear Family, We will always keep the memories your mother gave us through her wonderful artistic talent and loving nature. She shared her talent through the school and the NCH Museum with creative artwork, especially in an historical coloring book highlighting North Clark County. Thinking of you with love.
