Donald Kurtzbein Obituary

DONALD DOUGLAS KURTZBEIN
August 26, 1942 ~ June 29, 2018

Don was born to Don and Lee Kurtzbein on August 26, 1942 in St. Paul, MN. The family moved to Yakima, WA, then to Portland, OR, where they survived the Vanport Flood. Don grew up in Portland where he went to school, and made very special life long friendships.
He served in the Navy as an Aviation Electricians Mate. Don owned his own business, and was a perfectionist in everything he did.
Don proudly lived his faith. He was active in his men's group, where being a good role model and mentor were very important to him. Boating, fishing, and hunting were among his hobbies.
He is survived by a family that loves him, and that he so dearly loved: wife Cherie; children, Marcella, and Chuck Willis, Mary Kurtzbein, Troy Dazell Kurtzbein, Jim Herrod, and Shawn Herrod; siblings, Bill Kurtzbein, Kathy Burger, Tom Kurtzbein, and Kriss Robanske; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by Dean Dazell Kurtzbein.
Don's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Living Word Church, 5621 NE 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98665. There will be a viewing between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. We are requesting everyone to wear red, white and blue. There will be a gathering with refreshments following the service.

Not sure what to say?

So incredibly broken hearted to say goodbye to my grandfather. He was such a bright light in my life and that of all who knew him. I will miss him terribly. But so happy to know he is resting in paradise with the Lord he loved so much. Bocko was a great role model, comedian and gentleman with a heart of gold. Love you so very much. ~ Kovi
