DONALD BILLINGS

Donald Billings of Battle Ground, WA, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, peacefully in his sleep. He was born March 9, 1929 in Falls Citys, Nebraska. He graduated from Benson High School and was an Army veteran. He retired from the Oregon State Highway Department after 30 years. During that time, as a draftsman, he worked on several projects including the Banfield Freeway, I-405, I-205, and the Mt Hood Freeway that ultimately was never built. He also did some work on the Banfield Light Rail project before retiring.
Don helped his wife manage Jaye's Bouquets, a Florist and Wedding business that they owned for more than 25 years. They enjoyed traveling around the country together in their RV. Don also enjoyed listening to Gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette "Jaye" Billings, the love of his life for 58 years, and daughter Janice Corsine. He is survived by his children: son, Doug Billings of Longview, WA, daughters, Jacque Billings, Jenell McCann, and Julie Falkenstein, all of Vancouver, WA, 9 Grandchilden, and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel, Vancouver, Washington. Viewing September 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
