Dennis Kovol, 71, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Mon., March 28, 2018. He was born on Nov. 16, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to Marie and Sergei Kovol. Later his family moved to Bayside in Queens, NY, where Dennis spent his youth. He graduated from Bayside High School in 1964; from Queensborough Community College with an AS degree in Engineering; from Richmond College in Staten Island with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1970; and from the USC with a MS degree.
After college, Dennis went to work as an engineer and a teacher at a local community college in New York.
In 1977, Dennis moved to Mt. View, CA. He worked at different Silicon Valley companies before taking a position as an engineer with a defense contractor for the US Military. In 1995, Dennis met Linda on a blind date arranged through mutual friends. Dennis and Linda married in August 2000 in North Lake Tahoe, in a small wedding on the shores of Tahoe. They lived in Redword Shores before Dennis retired in 2004. In 2005, they moved to Bellingham, WA where they lived until 2011. In 2011, Linda and Dennis then moved to Vancouver, WA, enjoying all that SW Washington has to offer.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda Kovol; his brother, Roger and his wife, Marilyn; nephew, Christopher Kovol; and nieces, Stefanie (Kovol) Probst and Jenna Kovol.
Dennis has been cremated and his ashes will be disseminated in a private celebration of his life with family and friends, at a later date in Lake Tahoe, CA.
