Clarence Petty, 74, of Vancouver, Washington, lost his battle with cancer, at home with his family. He was born in Little Sioux, Iowa.
He worked for the US Forest Service for 35 years as a Civil Engineer. He was actively involved in his community. He was the 4-H leader of Tailored To Ride for 30 years. He was honored to be elected to the State 4-H Hall of Fame. He was on the board of NW Harvest South a local food bank for 20 years.
His favorite pastime was playing pool. He was the Captain of various Clark County pool leagues, playing most recently for the Half Time Tavern. He was an expert pool player and his reputation proceeded him wherever he went. He was a member of the CCEHorse Council for over 21 years.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marney;, sisters, Linda (Larry) Masters and Madelyn (Scott) Petty; children, Alan (Carrie) Petty, Pam (Mike) West, Vicki (Mick) Martin, Tracy (Richie) Eriksen; grandchildren Jessica, Tyler, Adam, Tyrah, Emily and Ryan; and great-grandson, Stephen.
A memorial service will be held, Saturday, April 2, 2011, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 426 E 4th Plain, Parrish Hall, Vancouver, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to NW Harvest South, PO Box 2131, Vancouver, WA 98668.
