CHARLES WAYNE "CHUCK" FOLKINS
February 22, 1954 ~ February 15, 2015

Charles Folkins passed away on February 15, 2015 after a nine-month battle with cancer. Chuck was the best husband, father, and friend anyone could ask for, and no one ever had to ask.
He was born in Tucson, AZ on February 22, 1954, to Charles and Ann (Gallaher) Folkins. Chuck graduated from the University of Arizona. He began a career in Vocational Rehabilitation, which took him to a job in Portland, Maine, where he met Mary Rettof, the love of his life. They moved to Vancouver, WA in 1988 with their son, Stephen, and soon celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Theresa. Chuck changed careers, proudly working for Hewlett Packard, from which he took an early retirement.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary, who will love him forever; his two children, Stephen and Theresa, who are more like him every day, to their great fortune; his two sisters, Faye (Dick) Miltenberger and Cheryl (Vince) McGinniss; seven nieces and nephews and their twelve children.
A service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vancouver, WA on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., with a memorial reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Ray Hickey Hospice House or the Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.

When visiting Mary's dear mother Flo toward the end of her life, we fondly remember her asking, "Where's Chuck? I like Chuck." She recognized in him the kindness and loyalty which were the hallmarks of his life. With our sincere condolences and love, Julie, Chris, Nicole and Lauren Bene'

Our prayers are with Chuck's family. I had the privilege of working with Chuck at Hewlett Packard for many years. He was a kind and friendly person that you enjoyed being around. Chuck was always mentoring others. My wife and I would often run into him at Starbucks, taking time to update what was happening in our lives and the latest news. He will be missed and was honored to be his friend and co-worker.
