Carol V. Ricketson, 91, longtime resident of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Feb. 26, 2011. She was born Aug. 14, 1919 to Delmar and Edith Bice in Yakima, WA.
She graduated from Central Washington University in 1943 with a degree in education, and moved to Vancouver to begin a long teaching career, which included teaching art, a subject dear to her heart.
Carol was an avid gardener, loved the outdoors, and expressed
her passion for nature through her many drawings and paintings.
Carol is survived by her son, David (Mary) Ricketson of Vancouver; her daughter, Kay (Steve) Eckhart of Vancouver; her brother, Del Bice of Yakima; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold Ricketson; and her brother, Max Bice.
A memorial service will be held Sat., March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, 111 W. 19th St., Vancouver.
