CAROL RUTH (VOGEL) BLODGETT
June 13th, 1936 ~ February 5th, 2018
The world lost a very good friend, mother, sister, and grandma. Carol Ruth Vogel Blodgett died Monday, February 5th, 2018, in Vancouver, WA, after a short battle with pneumonia.
Carol was born at home during the Great Depression on June 13, 1936 to Herbert and Ruth Vogel of Los Angeles, CA.
Carol was the ultimate mother: caring and generous, and she never missed an event in which her kids participated. She took every opportunity presented to brag about her grandkids, Daniel and Lily.
A great friend, Carol always had a pot of coffee on for guests. She loved to laugh, so loudly you could hear it on the other side of the grocery store as she read the humorous greeting cards. Most evenings one could find Carol reading sci-fi fantasy books, and she also enjoyed oil painting, frequenting garage sales, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
Before her retirement, Carol was a receptionist at Farmer's Insurance corporate office.
She is survived by three siblings, Joanne Scheerer, Gail McQuade, and Kenny Vogel; her four children, Jon of Vancouver, WA, Scot (Karen) of Portland, OR, Kurt of Vancouver, WA and Carrie (Kristi) of Vancouver, WA; and her two wonderful grandchildren, Daniel, and Lily.
Memorial services will be held March 10, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol's name to the Alzheimer's Association.

I will always remember Aunt Carol for her infectious laugh and adventurous spirit. She was an important influence on me when I was a child. I will remember fondly our trips to Newport Beach, Bandon and our family vacations to see Carol and the kids when they lived in Vancouver. She was always happy, laughing and kind to me. Rest in peace sweet Aunt Carol.

So very sorry to learn of the passing of your dear Carol. She sounds like someone I would have liked to be around since she loved to laugh. She would have made me laugh just hearing her laugh. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May GOD heal your broken hearts and give you peace and comfort.
