Carl Anderson, 90, of Ridgefield, WA, passed away November 29th, 2018. He was born in Moran, KS to Ethelyn and Jennings Anderson. He has two sisters, Norma Wilkins and Helen LaRue as well as two brothers, Junior and Bill Anderson.
Carl married his sweetheart Pat Hasbrook in 1951 at St. James Catholic Church in Vancouver, WA. They had four sons, Jamie (wife Gina Anderson), Michael, Robert, and Brian. He has four grandchildren, Darcy (husband David Hackler), Matthew (wife Grace Anderson), Sarra (husband Chris Cunningham) and Shannon (husband Chris Smith). Carl was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
During his career as a welder with Alcoa he studied for the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Seattle and served as a Deacon for 35 years. Carl came to love the people of the parishes he served as his extended family, his home parish St. Mary of Guadalupe, Sacred Heart parish in Battle Ground, the Mission of St. Joseph the Worker in Yacolt, St. Phillip in Woodland and the Mission of St. Joseph in Kalama.
Preceding him in death and greeting him home are his sons, Michael, Robert and Brian; and sister, Norma.
A vigil will be held Thursday, December 6th at 6PM and the funeral will be held Friday, December 7th at 11AM preceded by a rosary at 10:30AM at St. Mary of Guadalupe, 1605 N 65th Ave., Ridgefield, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Operation Nightwatch at PO Box 4005, Portland, OR 97208, which he served for 25 years or Mount Angel Abbey, 1 Abbey Drive, St. Benedict, OR 97373.
