October 14, 1966 ~ November 23, 2017

Brian L. Northrop, 51, of Vancouver, WA, passed away Thurs., Nov. 23, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 14, 1966 in Davenport, WA. As a baby, Brian and his family moved from Davenport to Vancouver where he attended Hudson's Bay High School, graduating in 1985. While in school, he played football and basketball.
Eventually Brian became a proud long haul trucker, working for himself as an owner/operator.
Sept. 15, 1993 Brian's life changed forever. This is the day he met his future wife, Joylyn. They were set up on a blind date by close mutual friends. That first date was at the old Timber Lanes Bowling Alley in Vancouver. A short time later, April 26, 1997, they were married at the Marshall House on Officer's Row.
Brian loved going fast! In his younger years he enjoyed racing cars at Portland Speedway. He loved watching NASCAR and football, working on cars and hanging out with friends.
His house was where people wanted to be
and he was always the life of the party.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Joylyn; children, Tori Northrop and Nick Northrop; grandchildren, Anthony and KJ; parents, Jean and Darrell Northrop; parents-in-law, Pat and Cleone Mullen; sisters-in-law, Susie Shoemaker and Kathy Mutschler; brother-in-law, Jay Dusich; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
