Alford Taylor Jr., 74, of Chiloquin, OR, formerly of Battle Ground, WA, passed away on July 30, 2018 with family by his side. He was born Nov. 29, 1943 in Medford, OR.
Al had a passion for trains and spent his career as a railroad engineer for SP&S, Burlington Northern and Amtrak. Al received the recognition of Engineer of the Year while with Amtrak in 1993 and was credited with saving lives when he slowed and stopped the train early in an effort to avoid colliding with a derailed freight train. He also enjoyed classic cars, camping, boating, fishing, rock hounding, and coin collecting. He loved taking frequent trips to Mexico with family and friends.
Al is survived by his wife, Alma; his 5 children, Julie, Natalie, Charles, Sabrina and Seth; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
