”Captain Bob”
Walter R. ”Bob” Johnson, 78, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by a gaggle of gabby women which was his comfort zone. He was embraced by many family and friends in the days before his passing. Bob loved his family, his dogs and his boats, not necessarily in that order. He was born in Seattle, WA to Mathcal and Doris (Cowan) Johnson.
Bob worked for North Pacific Paper in Longview, WA for 25 years.
”Captain Bob” enjoyed boating, volleyball, water volleyball, traveling and gardening. He loved all animals, especially his many dogs, Brandy, Odie, Cindy and Chloe.
Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Penni (Vilhauer); daughters, Karen Ann DeTally (John), Lori Roesen and Sandie Anderson; sons, Robert Johnson, Scott Johnson (Jolene) and Dylan Welch (Denise); grandkids, Christopher Roesen, Ryder Johnson, Tabitha Johnson, Michael Johnson, Ada Welch and Theo DeTally; brothers, Clyde Johnson, Jerry Needham, Steve Needham and Joe Danoff; and puppy, Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Johson; and sisters, Doris Bilow and Maryann Needham.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Fri., Nov. 30, 2018 at 12:30 p.m.

Bob was such a sweet soul. It still is hard to imagine Bob is gone, but his memory will live on. What a great friend and wonderful husband to my dear friend, Penni. They had a good life!
