I am so saddened to hear about Vern's passing. I am in charge of ticketing at the Grieg Lodge's Lutefisk Dinner, and I called to ask Vern how many tickets he wanted, and his voice mailbox was full. I had a sinking feeling and just found his obituary. I really enjoyed seeing him at the dinner these past 8 years I've been doing the ticketing. He was a very kind man and I will think fondly of him alway. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
