Thomas Glascoe Obituary

THOMAS "TOM" ALAN GLASCOE
June 25, 1961 ~ May 25, 2011

Thomas Alan Glascoe went home to the Lord on May 25, 2011. He was born on June 25, 1961 in Norwich, CT to Thomas and Darlene Glascoe.
His family moved to Vancouver in 1975 where he graduated from Evergreen High School in 1979. He went on to receive his Bachelors of Science from Portland State University.
Tom worked for Columbia Machine since 1998 and Allied System from 1987 to 1998.
Tom was an avid outdoors man. Being a die-hard fisherman, he would often spend countless hours on the river and lake with fishing pole in hand. He also enjoyed water and snow skiing, biking, flying model airplanes and coaching his childrens sports.
He served on the board for Clark County Youth Football, also as safety officer for Columbia Machine since 1998.
Tom is survived by his wife Donna of 26 years; his parents, Thomas and Darlene; his sister Cheryl (Harv); his brother Robert; his daughter Jennifer; and two sons Bryan and Cody.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Contributions can be made to the CCYF scholarship fund.

There are some crane engineers over here at Alled Systems Company in Sherwood who worked alongside Tom for years, and it's sad to hear hear about Tom's passing. He was an amazing guy and he designed a lot of marine crane units, many that are still in service today. It was a pleasure to know and work with Tom. My condolences to the family and God bless all of you at this time of loss.

Donna, all family members and friends: You may or may not remember me. My name is Denise Malaspina-Sills (formerly Malaspina-Weigel). My son's name is Richard A. Weigel II. Your husband coached Richard in his earlier years of baseball at the Evergreen baseball field located on Fourth Plain Blvd. Even at my son's early age, he would always talk about "Coach Tom". I grew to know him as a loving parent and coach and he was always personable and outgoing...a real people person. He was so encouraging and great with the kids. I was so sorry to get the news today from Richard. He will truly be missed by all. He was a "good man Charlie Brown" and he will truly be missed by all he came into contact with and by all who's life he influenced and sent down the right road. Sorry to be so lengthy with this. He truly will be missed by many. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Denise (a baseball mom who appreciates everything he did for my son and my family and the rest of his "extended family").

The first thing I see when I think of Tom is that mischievous twinkle in his eye. Loved his sense of humor, and his kind, gentle soul. He was our best man, in more ways than one. If my husband had ever had a brother, it would have been Tom. I'm honored to have known him.
May the rivers run calm and the fish run big in your new home.

I will never forget my first trip to Vegas (ever!) with the Glascoe family. One of the best parts was all of us being crammed in the back of the rental car with Tom trying to maneuver through the crowded Vegas strip after our trip to the Hofbrauhaus for Bryan's 21st birthday. Such a great trip! "Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you...Until we meet again!"(Author Unknown) Rest in Peace Tom!!!
