Sadie Hayden

February 5, 1919 ~ November 18, 2017
"Sadie was a beloved mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother."

Sadie Hayden was born in Baker, OR and passed away of natural causes at the age of 98. Her life journey took her from Baker, OR to Salt Lake City, UT, Portland and Tualatin, OR where she finally resided in Vancouver, WA.
At 98 years old, Sadie was truly from another generation. She was always the "lady" for whom family comes first. Even at 98 years old, Sadie would have candy on her table for guests - to leave them with a sweet taste after visiting with her. She was well-cared for in her last years by the kind employees of Touchmark, Home Instead and Linda Dillard.
Sadie's passion for 60 plus years was playing Mah Jong and Quidler, and even at 98, she would complete the Oregonian's cross word puzzle.
In her prime, Sadie was active in the community - including Hadassah, Tualatin Golf Club and many volunteer organizations. She was a member of Congregation Kol Ami.
Sadie is survived by her three children, Arnie Hayden (Sue), Linda Horowitz (David), and Neal Hayden (Robin), plus 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband of 69 years, Harry Hayden.
A funeral was held in Vancouver, WA Nov. 20, 2017. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial donations can be made to: Congregation Kol Ami, 7800 NE 119th Street, Vancouver, WA 98662;
