ROSALIE C. DRAKE
November 19, 1919 ~ May 11, 2011
Rosalie C. Drake, 91, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on May 11, 2011. She was born in Binghamton, NY on Nov. 19, 1919 to James P. and Mary C. Reagan.
Rosalie cherished the idea that taking care of her children, their children (grandkids) and their children (great-grandkids) was the highlight of her life.
Rosalie is known for her kindness, generosity and her genuine care for people. It would take Rosalie only a few minutes to strike up a conversation with a stranger and become lifelong friends. Within a very short period of time, Rosalie would have such a positive influence that people remembered her as being the caregiver with her kindness, consideration, thoughtfulness and her cheer.
A very special thanks goes to all of Rosalie's four children who loved her so much that they always participated in her everyday life. They all took care of her and loved her.
Rosalie is survived by her children, Edward Drake, Donna Drake, Rickey Drake and Sharon Nelson; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Aries, Tiffany, Brad, Zach, Monique, Taryn and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ival A. Drake.

I had the honor to meet Rosalie when i was 15 .( 41 years ago). And not once did she ever speak a harsh word about anyone. She was always kind soft spoken and the best dressed mom of any of my friends.. I will always remember visiting Rosalie at Christmas time in Fountain Valley Ca. I would sit close to her so we could share Sees chocolates. And yes she would poke them to make sure she was getting her favorite one. She was a remarkable woman that I had the privledge to know. She will missed by many. May God continue to bless all her friends and family at this time of sorrow.

Rosalie was such a beautiful person, both inside and out, and she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She carried herself with such grace and her quick wit made her a pleasure to be around. Rosalie's kindness and unconditional love were the most beautiful traits that she passed onto her entire family, and I am honored to have known her. May you rest in peace, my friend. You will be deeply missed, Beautiful Rose!!!!

Grandma, we love you and will always remember you for all of the love you gave, the great times we had and all of the stories you told. You always let us know how special we were to you and how you loved us so. You gave everything of yourself and never asked for anything in return. We know that you are now dancing with the Stars. We will never forget you. You will always be in our hearts!

Rosalie will definately be missed by all who knew her. She was a caring and devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She always had a warm and kind smile to make you feel so welcomed. Always soft spoken, and such beautiful sparkling eyes.
One of the best dressed ladies I ever met. Everything matched from head to toe. She was like a second Mom to me in many ways. I remember many shopping and lunch outings with her and her daughter, Sheri. We always had a great time together. Rosalie will be missed by all who had the priveledge to know her.

My grandma had the most generous heart one could ever come across. She was loving, caring, quick witted and funny. I have always felt so lucky to have her in my life as did anyone who ever met her. Growing up, friends always spoke of how they wished their grandmas were more like her. Grandma was constantly encouraging us and always supportive. She was always a lady and also the sharpest dresser I knew....never wearing any of those "old lady clothes." The lessons she taught me and our family are priceless and are very prominent in every one of us. She was a strong woman physically, mentally, and spiritually. More than a grandmother, she was a best friend and I will miss her for the rest of my life.
I love you Grandma.

Sorrow cannot express enough the feelings of loss that I have experienced with the passing of a loved and cherished true gem of a person and mother. Rosalie has been a steadfast example of what true compassion among people is. She is a parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent, and above all she is the model of unconditional love and friendship. She is the example of true kindness as her kindness comes from the heart and is unwavering. She is genuine as her heart is genuine. I will miss her, as I do miss miss her, for a loss such as hers has shaken the earth. I love you Rosalie, I will miss you. Your son, Steven.
