LOWELL KERMIT STARKEY
February 5, 1921 ~ February 25, 2011
Lowell K. Starkey, 90, was born on February 5, 1921 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota to Henry and Nellie (Schultz) Starkey and passed away on February 25, 2011 in Vancouver, WA. He graduated from La Center High School in 1940.
Lowell joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1944.
He enjoyed fishing, working on electronics, gardening, yard work, and helping others.
Lowell is survived by his wife; Viola; and son, Tim Starkey; sisters, June Mangus and Rose Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his son, Darwin Lee Starkey; brothers, Lawrence, Dalton, Clayton, Selmer and Melvin Starkey; and his parents.
Viewing will be on Wed., March 2, 2011 from 12:00-9:00 p.m. and Thurs., March 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Fri., March 4 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
