June Howard was the second of four children born to Marcus and Ellen (Reilly) MacDonald in Anaconda, MT on June 12, 1924. She graduated from St. Peter's Catholic Grade School in 1938, Anaconda High School in 1942, and completed a degree in Business at Spokane Community College.
June worked as a homemaker, a bakery clerk, and a credit card clerk. She was an active member of Junior Women at the local and state level, and the Alter Society.
~ There was always music playing in her home. ~
Earlier in her life, June sang in the church choir as well as Sweet Adaline's. She loved to dance, and she and her husband Don participated in many Dixie Band related travels. They both performed with the Battle Ground Dixieland Band. She loved to sing "Won't you come home Bill Bailey." Her last performance was a year ago when she sang "Summertime" at Tommy O's with Tom Grant and his band.
She is survived by seven natural children: Claude "Skip" Wells, Bruce (Linda) Wells, Mick (Peggy) Wells, Joel (Jackie) Wells, June "Sue" Chinn, Molly Loncosty, and Tony (Teri) Wells; three stepchildren, Hamilton "Ham" (Pam) Howard, Steve (Carol) Howard, and Zoe TIbbetts; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded by death by her parents; siblings, Barney MacDonald, Darlene Anderson, and Bruce MacDonald; her grandson, Erik Wells; and husband, Hamilton "Don" Howard.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, at Bridgewood At Four Seasons, 11700 NE Angelo Drive, Vancouver, WA at 2:30 p.m. Her memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 16, at St. Thomas Moore Parish, 515 West St. Thomas Moore Way, Spokane, WA at 11:00 am.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I knew June & Don when I worked at Bridgewood several years ago and vividly remember how much they both enjoyed music. They were always excited when the Lewis River Dixieland Band came to play and I can remember June joining them to sing 'Bill Bailey'. I was blessed to know both of them and I know they are missed, but they were certainly a blessing to their families and to anyone who knew them.
