Joel Edward Selfridge

February 11, 1946 ~ February 1, 2016

Joel Edward Selfridge was surrounded by family as we lovingly said good-by to him on February 1, 2016 at the age of 69.
Joel was born on February 11, 1946 in Hillsboro, OR to Jack and Maryjane Selfridge. He graduated from Hudson's Bay High School (Vancouver, WA) in 1964.
Joel was a Clark County Firefighter for 10 years then pursued his passion in residential construction where he was a general contractor for the remainder of his working years.
He is survived by his mother, Maryjane; two sons: Kevin (wife Debbie) and Landon (wife Kathy); Brothers Ron (wife Linda), Tim (wife Dee), and sister Pam (husband Dan, deceased), as well as four grandchildren: Riley, Megan, Alyssa, and Thomas. He is also survived by his very special friend Lorraine. He was preceded in death by his father Jack E. Selfridge.
Joel loved being on the golf course and was a life long golfer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, music and dancing, and appreciated sightseeing the beauties nature offered, especially the beach. Little known was his fondness for writing poetry where he found comfort in exploring emotions, spiritual growth, and harmony with life.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 309 W 39th St, Vancouver, WA.
