EDNA REBECCA ROBERTS

Edna Rebecca Roberts, 108, of Vancouver, WA, went to Heaven on March 27, 2011. She was born on May 10, 1902 to John and Letticia Rhodes, homesteaders in Carbon County, MT.
Edna married Russell J. Roberts in 1921. They had two daughters, Hazel Dawn and Dorothy Fern. The family moved to Colton, OR in 1935.
During WW II Edna became a welder at the Oregon Shipyards.
Edna went to beauty school and moved to The Dallas, where she opened her own shop.
In 1970, Russell died, and Edna then moved to the Vancouver Pythian Home. During this time she traveled to Hawaii, China, Japan, Israel, and France.
She moved next door to her daughter Dorothy "Dee" and son-in-law, Doug Moe, until she was 107 years old, when she moved to the Lockehaven Adult Family Care Home.
Edna is survived by daughters, Hazel Clark, and "Dee" Dorothy (Doug) Moe; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Sat., April 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., Vancouver First Church of God, 3300 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98665.
Remembrances may be made to the Vancouver First Church of God Missions Department.

I had the pleasure of helping care for Edna, and she was an absolute joy. She taught me so many things and always had such amazing stories to share. Edna raised an incredible and loving family, and I know she will be missed greatly. Rest happily in heaven, Miss Edna!

"Keep the Lord close to your heart" are the words of wisdom that my beautiful 108 year old Great Grandma gave to us for the last time. We will rejoice to have known such a Godly woman.. The matriarch of our family.. She will be truely missed by us all.
