I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing! I always counted him as a friend.

I first met Mark when he was doing a project at the VA hospital. He was a genuine person and very kind. We both would chat about peppers so I gave him and Cindy some ghost peppers that I had grown. You would have thought I had given him a million dollars. He was a very gracious man and I considered him a good friend. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family for their loss.

When we saw Mark and Cindy together, they were both 'glowing' and seemed soul mates meant for each other. I always appreciated his friendliness and interests in cooking -- especially as a Pepper Head!! Our prayers are with Cindy and family for your great loss. Hector

Mark, we only met you once but you were one of the best things to happen to my niece, Cindy. You made her so happy. I'm so sorry you couldn't have spent more time with her.

Mark was a great neighbor. He was always there to help out with any home projects or when we needed advice. We met 21 years ago when we moved in next door. Right from the start he was always kind, giving and a good friend to our family. Our hearts are broken for all of his family and friends. We will miss you Mark, but will never forget you.

I've known Mark since he was 12 years old since he was best friends with my brother Jeff. I remember all Mark's high jinx' tricks he would pull on me & others you could tell he was up to something with that sparkle in his eyes because he had a great sense of humor. I'll miss his smiling face & kind heart. My thoughts & prayers go out to all family members & friends.

I quickly became fond of Mark on our hallway walks at OHSU 14K. He was an inspiration to me on my own journey with AML. He was positive, supportive and motivating. I will miss him.

I send my condolences to Cindy and all of Mark's family.

Mark is my older brother and of all the sad things I have had to endure, the saddest was saying goodbye to him.
I have comfort knowing he was truly happy these last years. He loved his children so very much. He had meet and married his true love/soulmate. And when everyone gave up on Murphy.... he was still there for his best friend. He was always happy remodeling his house with flawless craftsmanship. His strength and demeanor while fighting this terrible disease was incredible. To have a brother like Mark was a very special gift, he will live in my heart and mind forever. I will miss you so very much.

Mark was a second father to me. He put a lot of time into making his home beautiful, but what was even more special was that his door was always open and that he welcomed me every time with open arms. Mark was an amazing chef that loved to test the boundaries on hot sauces and would never let a guest go home hungry! He was big and strong in stature, but kind and compassionate by nature. He raised kids that are my best friends and are equally as generous and caring. Mark will be missed and remembered through his amazing family that he helped build and shape. Much light to all that have pain in their heart by the loss. Much love to the lives that he was able to touch.

Mark was my best friend and came when I called. To help or give me advise on some mess I had created he was always there for me. He was my Shell answer man... and my friend. The world just does not seem right without him. I really loved that guy... I am a better person for knowing him and I am going to miss him dearly....

You left our world too soon, Mark ---not having enough time to get to know you, but definitely knowing the light and happiness you brought to my sisters' life. Rest peacefully from your courageous battle. Your influence will live on.
