MARGARET ELLEN (SMITH) ALBERTSON
August 21, 1926 ~ November 16, 2017

Margaret Ellen (Smith) Albertson quietly passed away at the age of 91 at home on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Modesto, CA. Margaret was born on August 21, 1926 in Rapid City, SD. She was the youngest daughter of Lydia May (Lewis) Canfield and Ira Homer Smith, now deceased. She had two sisters and five brothers who also preceded her in death.
Margaret and James Leslie Albertson were married on January 29, 1948 in Vancouver, WA. James preceded her in death on October 17, 2010 at Ridgefield, WA. Together they were married 62 years and had four children.
Margaret's places of work outside the home included the Cowlitz County Fire District, VFW Post 1927 and volunteered at Woodland voting poles.
She and Jim lived in Woodland, Castle Rock, Longview, Vancouver and Ridgefield. Margaret was a devout Christian, a loving wife, skilled homemaker and wonderful mother. She and Jim were very active church members and instilled loving, Christian principles in all their children.
Margaret is survived by her four children: Gale Keith Albertson and wife Eileen (Ames) Albertson; Linda Karen Albertson, all of Modesto, CA; Diana Marie (Albertson) Fike and husband Tim of Lynnwood, WA; Mark Leslie Albertson and wife Ruth Ann (Easter) of Burleson, TX as well as grandchildren: Darin Albertson of Midland, TX; Natalie (Albertson) Inman, husband Loran and son Judah of Orting, WA; Zakary Fike and wife Carmen of Lynnwood, WA; Jeremy Fike and wife Maryanne of Clyde Hill, WA; Ryan Rainbolt and wife, Momoko, of Santa Ana, CA; Emma Easter-Albertson of Burleson, TX; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Burial: Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CrossPoint Community Church in Modesto, CA or Medical Ambassadors International in Salida, CA.
