HELEN JEAN BOURCIER
July 20, 1922 ~ December 23, 2016
Helen Bourcier passed away on December 23, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born on July 20, 1922 in Wenatchee, WA. She spent her youth in Camas and graduated from Camas High School in 1940.
Helen married Paul Leo Bourcier on November 10, 1945 at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Helen enjoyed her artwork and crafts. She earned a Certificate for the completion of a four-year correspondence course with Famous Artists School, Westport, CT in 1961. She was an Associate member of the Southwest Water Color Society in Vancouver, WA and Past President and Secretary of Mid Columbia Artists Association. Helen worked as a Teacher Aide at Helen Baller School from 1968 to 1979.
Helen and Paul's travels included trips in their travel trailer to Florida and much of the western U.S., and Nova Scotia. A sailboat trip up the Inside Passage to Juneau, AK was a favorite trip.
Helen is survived by children Paulette Bowers of Virginia City, NV; Janice Neary of Scottsdale, AZ; Francis Bourcier of Camas, WA and Louise Bourcier of Tucson, AZ. She is the grandmother of Matthew Sill, Juneau, AK; Jarod Bourcier of Pensacola, FL and Sharyl Bourcier of Vancouver, WA. She has two great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2008.
Helen was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
