To those who read this, you don't know me. In fact, I never met Renee. However, I spoke with her on the Friday of that fateful day as she was driving her daughter from Ikea to a new apartment. New bedroom furniture had been purchased as I recall and she mentioned she was attending a birthday gathering later that evening with friends. I told her to have fun and I would circle back on Saturday AM to arrange meeting her for the very first time. During the evening party, she texted me several photos of the ladies all gathered in a room enjoying what appeared to be a wonderful evening of laughter. I thought what a wonderful group of friends she has and texted her such. I called her Saturday AM and followed with a text mentioning my earlier call. Nothing in response. I was a bit baffled, but figured such is life. I opened my morning Columbian on Thursday and was sickened to my stomach and beyond stunned at reading the obit. I had communicated with her within probably an hour of her driving away and having this senseless and tragic event happen.

I just want to express my heart-felt condolences to the family and her wonderful friends I had seen in her evening texts. I pondered attending today's funeral, but figured it would be inappropriate to be a stranger there who technically had never met her. I will never know what an amazing woman and mother she must have been. Again, my deepest sympathies to all of you who were blessed to have known this wonderful and amazing person.
