JUDY DEE KRENELKA
October 29, 1940 ˜ December 7, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Judy Krenelka announces her passing on December 7, 2018, at home, following a brief illness. Born on October 29, 1940 in Seattle, Washington, she was the youngest of Gordon and Dymple Alvord’s three daughters.
Judy was a Vancouver, Washington resident for most of her life, moving to Vancouver when the Alvord family transferred here from Seattle in 1944. She was a 1958 graduate of Hudson’s Bay High School and a devoted and involved student at Clark College.
Judy loved the water and was an excellent swimmer, and for 12 years taught swim lessons at the Marshall Center in Vancouver. She appreciated art and was an avid supporter of many local artists as well as local theatre companies. Judy had a strong passion for Northwest Coast Indian art and culture. She joined the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in 1964, and in the process formed many life-long friendships through that organization, including her beloved “Bodacious Bunch”.
Judy had many other affiliations and interests that kept her busy and active throughout her years, however she was happiest spending time with Gary, her husband of 51 years; her son, Randy; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan (James Sexson) and Carol (John Baker); her nieces, nephews and their children; as well as her strong network of friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Alvord in 1963 and Dymple Alvord in 1996; her husband, Gary in 2011; and her sister, Carol in 2017.
Judy was a lovely, kind and gentle person. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, and make others laugh. She will be greatly missed by all of us who survive her.
A remembrance and celebration of Judy’s life will be held in 2019.
Memorial donations in memory of Judy can be made to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington or the Clark County Food Bank, two of her favorite causes.

Randy - I just heard of your moms passing and was so sorry. Your mom was influential in my childhood and helped me see things in a different more colorful way and for that I am grateful and fortunate. Take care, love, Mikee Hoover Hanson

She was a dear friend since 1965. She supported my artwork many times over the years, and was generous with her time and appreciation of all types of art and artists. Dogs provided her with much happiness, but her family she held closest to her heart. I miss her daily.

Judy was a great lady and swim teacher. I will always treasure the summers I spent with her learning to swim at Marshall Center. I'm so glad I remembered her beautiful smile for 30 years . I was able to recognize her and tell her thanks for the great swim skills and wonderful memories.
