JOSEPH PATRICK DeBOEVER July 7, 1957 ~ October 3, 2016
Joseph P. DeBoever, 59, of Washougal, WA, passed away Oct. 3, 2016. He was born to Raymond and Mary Elizabeth DeBoever in Vancouver, WA on July 7, 1957 and graduated from Camas High School where he was a star athlete both on the basketball and tennis courts.
Joe went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the University of Portland.
He was employed at the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Camas, WA and had just marked his 21st anniversary with the mill on October 2nd.
Joe was an avid golfer, playing every chance he could. On a recent trip to the British Isles, he realized his dream of playing golf in Scotland along with visiting "The Old Course" in St. Andrews, Scotland. Joe loved to travel and was always thinking of where to go next.
Joe is survived by his wife and companion of 30 years, Kathie; his daughter, Jessica DeBoever; his sisters, Christine McIvor (Kelly) and Kathleen Zimmer (Ed); and brothers, Daniel DeBoever, David DeBoever (Nancy), William DeBoever and James DeBoever (Julie).
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Mon., Oct. 10, 2016 at 11a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery.
Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
