Hey Mike, dang dude I think about you all the time still. I have that Hot Wheel you gave me when I helped you with the getting supplies for the basement project on a shelf that I see daily and think of you then.

Mike and I were friends through grade school and high school. I spent numerous summers hanging out at his house. He introduced me to music, film, and books. Along with our other friends, Tom and Al, we'd just have a blast. We'd all trade jokes and try to entertain each other- always something happening! Mike was a great friend to us.
College came and our group got together less frequently. Life and time took us in different directions. But I will always remember those days of growing up in the neighborhood with Mike.
This is a terrible loss and I my prayers go to his family. May you find peace in this time of sadness.
God's love be with you,
Eric

Michael was one of my few childhood friends. Even though we lost touch when I had left for college, the memories of the fun that we had was always present in my mind. We loved to play Star Wars together and pretend that we were shooting movies in his backyard. I can still recall sitting up in the crabapple-tree in the corner of his yard and eating fig-newtons. We also loved playing frisbee and gawking over his comic-book collection while listening to VanHalen or Twisted Sister. He had a great sense of humor. His creativity was beautiful. He was always friendly. I have missed him ever since we lost touch, and I miss him all the more now.

Michael was my dearest friend growing up. We had so much fun making home video movies at his house, playing games, helping each other with school and life. Going to Europe with Mike in high school was life-changeing, and later, I would make trips to visit him at university in Portland. We lost touch a number of years ago but I can never forget my wonderful friend! So sorry to the McClafferty family for your loss.

I am very sorry to read this news. I was a classmate of his at Bishop Egan and remember his quirky sense of humor and excellent academic skills. I have fond memories of doing creative writing with Mike for homework assignments in Father Richard's religion and Ms. B's spanish classes. While I haven't spoken to him since graduation, he was a good person and helpful to others. My deepest condolences to his family.

I will always remember how Mike would route for his son during the soccer games, running up and down the sideline "go-go-go, run-run-run". He was always involved with the soccer team, even helping plan pizza events with the team. Always a smile on his face. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My wife and I met Michael when we first stopped at Vancouver Pizza for an evening meal. He will be remembered as one of the few people that made a difference in our lives and such a positive influence. We are one of the few people living in Portland that would drive the 10 mile route to have pizza and chat with Michael. He took the time to remember our names and was a special part of our lives. We will miss his smile

My family first met Michael when he worked at Casa Grande on Main Street. It was our favorite restaurant and Michael was great to us. He then took his two oldest kids to the performing arts studio that my daughter owns and I work at. He was always so kind and pleasant. No matter how much time would pass between meetings, he was always happy to see us and treated us like old friends. I can't believe he is gone. My heart goes out to his family. We will all miss him terribly.

To the McClafferty Family,
How saddened I was to see Michael's Obit in today's Courier Times. I remember him so well from Egan. I taught him both Junior and Senior Religion, and he also travelled with me to Eurooe in the summer of 1990. He and his classmates made that trip most memorable for me. Know I will offer Holy Mass for Michael and for his family. Blessings to you all. Fr Richard Davis, TOR.
