STEPHEN ”STEVE” MARK CAMPBELL
October 31, 1952 ˜ December 18, 2018
Stephen ”Steve” Mark Campbell passed away on December 18th, 2018 in Portland, Oregon of congestive heart failure, after a long illness. Steve was born on October 31st, 1952 in Superior, Wisconsin to Barbara (Emerson) and Roger J. Campbell. Two years later, in 1954, he was joined by brother, Timothy ”Tim” Scott. The family moved to Portland, OR in 1957 where they started their life in the Pacific Northwest .
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Alicia Anne Campbell. His four children, Jeremy, Jill, Jesse and Joan thought the world of their father and he deeply loved each one of them. Steve is survived by his three grandchildren, Isabella, Ainsley and Chloe. They too, were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara and stepdad, Dean Van Nostern, who raised him from the age of 11; his brother, Tim Campbell; and former wife, Virginia Campbell Larson. He also has a sister and brother, Rosemary and Roger, from his father’s second marriage. Steve’s youngest brother, Michael Van Nostern, describes his brother as completely selfless and, like all others who knew Steve, will miss him dearly.
Steve was a man of many talents and hobbies. He was a commissioner of the Clan Campbell Society (N.A.) for many years, participating in the Northwest area Highland Games and enjoying every minute alongside his wife, Alicia. His son, Jesse, proudly took over that position a few years ago. Steve was known for his elegant and detailed leatherwork, creating purses and bags for family and friends that will last a lifetime.
Steve retired a number of years ago from his position as Project Manager at Sundial Marine.
Memorial services will be held at the Columbia Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Washington at 805 Columbia Ridge Dr. 98446. Services will be on Jan. 5th at 1:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Clan Campbell Society or Columbia Presbyterian Church.
