ESTHER LYNA LINSON
June 26, 1921 ~ July 1, 2018
"Esther was a very special lady
beloved by her family and all who knew her."

Esther Lyna Linson, 97, of Vancouver, WA, peacefully passed into Heaven surrounded by loved ones on July 1, 2018. Born in Rife, WA to David and Polley Steele, she was one of nine children. Esther graduated from Mossyrock High School, Centralia Business College and American Institute of Banking.
During WWII, Esther was the first female bank teller for the U.S. Nat'l Bank of Oregon. She went to work for 1st Independent Bank in 1954 where she retired as Assoc. Vice President of Human Resources in 1986.
In retirement, Esther very much enjoyed growing and selling Christmas trees at her Fir Farm. She especially loved meeting the people who came for her trees.
Esther is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ira Linson; daughters, Janice Englert Bottemiller (Don), Kathe Englert Sumrill (Robert); step-son, Gene Linson (Anita); and sister, Maybelle Steele. She will always be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tim Lehner (Deborah), Darla Dow (Dan), Mark Lehner and Greg Erickson and step-grandchildren, Justin Linson (Kimberly), Geoffrey Linson (Chloe), Jeremy Linson, Adam Linson and Eric Linson; along with 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she had many very special friends that she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A celebration of Esther's life will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, July 28th, at Vancouver Church of Christ, 9019 NE 86th Street, Vancouver, WA.

I met Esther while working for 1st Indy, but when we were both members of the Columbia River Appaloosa Club we became friends. Reading her notice brought delightful memories of fun times in the past.
