NANCY CLAIRE (WALTERS) BONNAR
March 25, 1938 ~ November 26, 2017
Nancy Claire Walters Bonnar, 79, passed away on November 26th, 2017 at her niece's home in Vancouver, Washington where she lived for the previous year.
Her heart and soul were in Arizona, where she lived a full and accomplished life. Born March 25th, 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona to George and Marguerite Walters. The Walters were an Arizona pioneer family, her father being born in the Arizona Territory in 1895. Her youth was spent in Arizona and Southern California. She enjoyed all sports and graduated from Peoria High School in 1956.
After completing business college she became an accountant and worked for businesses in the Phoenix metropolitan area until ultimately buying her own business. She owned and operated Tall Fashions of Arizona for over 10 years and continued as a Tax Accountant for several long-term clients.
She was married to Kenneth Howard Bonnar, July 1964 until his passing in February 2000. She volunteered at the VA Hospital in Phoenix for over 10 years as a Thank You to the VA for all the care and support shown her husband. She was also Treasurer for the Prescott Evening Lions for many years as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Lucy Walters. She is survived by her nieces, Cathleen Millar, of Guernsey WY and Teresa Reisch of Vancouver, WA and their spouses; five grand-nieces and nephews, and 17 great-grand-nieces and nephews. Her wishes to be in laid to rest alongside her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona were followed and she arrived December 26th, 2017.
