ALVIN G. SUNDBERG
July 4, 1927 ~ October 7, 2017
Alvin G. Sundberg, 90, of Ridgefield, WA, died peacefully of heart failure on Oct. 7, 2017. He grew up on the family farm in Chester, SD.
Al graduated with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota State College (now SDSU) in 1950.
In 1951, he married the love of his life, Anne Barry.
Al served in the Army from 1955-1957.
After working as an accomplished engineer at General Electric for 37 years, he retired in 1987.
Al was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and exercised regularly at the Marshall Center. He was a Past District 32 Commander of the U.S. Power and Sail Squadron and recently received a 50-year Membership Award.
Al is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anne; daughters, Barbara Repman (Larry Slavik) and Joan Sundberg; son, Robert (Paula) Sundberg; and grandchildren, Destiny Roney and Kevin Sundberg.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
The family wants to express their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care given by the dedicated staff at the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Mon., Oct. 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 309 W. 39th St., Vancouver, WA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the United States Power Squadron Educational Fund.

That's such a nice picture!
He will be missed. He was the example of what a good man, good husband and good father should be. I feel quite blessed to have been his daughter -in -law for so many years!
