Connie Cozad Obituary

CONNIE JUNE (COKE) COZAD
February 28, 1951 ~ April 19, 2011
"Connie will be greatly missed
and never forgotten by anyone who ever knew her."

Connie June (Coke) Cozad passed away on April 19, 2011 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 60 from cancer. She was born Feb. 28, 1951 to Clifford and Doris June Moore in Coffeyville, KS.
She moved to the Northwest in 1982 and worked in the medical field in Eugene, OR and Vancouver, WA.
Connie lived every moment to the fullest
and found great joy in all of the interesting people
she met along the way and in just being alive every day.
Connie was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 17 and told she would never live to see 30. She never let that stop her from going to work every day and doing the things that made her happy. For many years now her greatest satisfaction has come from making beautiful quilts for her family, one member at a time. Those lucky enough to have one consider them to be prized family heirlooms.
Connie is survived by her husband, David Cozad of Kennewick, WA; mother and step-father, Norman and June Benson; sister, Linda Werner; niece, Shannon Shipman, all of Vancouver; and nephew, Matthew Werner of Eugene, OR.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Connie dearest Connie, will miss you. Your honesty from the heart will forever be with us. You were a wonder my dear. Thank you for all the laughter and all the hours and hours of comfort and fun my friend. We were never shy for fun, you were the little sister, but wiser. The quilt from you will be your arms around me every time I use it. Our love to you and much love to your family. Our hearts and prayers are with them.

Connie was my sister and best friend in life. She was the happiest person I've ever known and brought that 'happy' with her everywhere and showered us all with it along with her great capacity for love. I will miss my "CC" more than she could have ever imagined. She has always signed the birthday cards she gave to me by saying that she was so lucky to have me for a sister. But, what she never realized was that I was the lucky one. I love you CC.

Connie was amazingly unique in all the right ways... It's a remarkable thing in this day for someone to dare to be themselves without regard to expectations.. And she literally transmitted love. We transmit it back...we love you, dear lady.

"Celebration of Life" is exactly how Connie lived her life. She had an exceptional personality and "I love her like crazy." Aunt Nita

I got to know Connie when she married my brother-in-law, David. We got together every Friday for dinner night out. We had many enjoyable evenings. This last year we had a couple of family dinners. We enjoyed our trips to Wild Horse or Legends Casino. We will miss Connie. We didn't have time to do some of the things we were going to do together - sewing, quilting, more trips to the casinos. I am glad I did get to spend the time with Connie that I had. I will miss Connie. I know that I will see Connie again in the after life. Miss you. much love

I worked with Connie for several years. She always had a positive attitude and big shoulders to lean on. "Connie, I thank you for all our conversations and the times you just listened to me and gave me your insight on life and the journey's that lie ahead. You will be missed but I know that you are healthy now and free from pain". My love to you and your family.
