Memories and Condolences

Not sure what to say?

Count me among those who will miss Mr. Belden immensely. He was like my second father (I know a lot of people can claim that!). Our families were close since I was 8 years old and I grew up with his kids.

Mr. B was a godsend to me. If I was ever in a jam (and in my rebellious youth, that was fairly frequently), I always knew I could call him, at any time of the day or night, and he would come to my rescue, no questions asked.

I will miss the way he always called me "Messy"...for over 40 years!! It never got old. I loved him dearly, as did so many others. His energy remains in my heart, and I will think of him often.

My greatest sympathies to Mrs. Belden, Laura, Matt, Susie....and the entire extended family. I love you guys too!

-"Missy" (or, "Messy" to Mr. B!)

I am very sorry to hear about Wayne passing away. I didn't know Wayne but I knew his wife Phyllis. I worked with her at the Elks lodge. I saw the obit and just had to write a note. Phyllis I hope you are doing well. Take care. I saw my parents Jim and Shirly Poage last weekend and they remember you very well. Eileen Poage

Wayne was well known by all of us here at Hearthwood Dog and Cat Clinic. His daughter Sue is a receptionist here. His humor was always a bright spot in everyone's day with his concerned calls about his "sick elephant that had to be seen by the doctor". We will miss all the different hats he would show up in. Wayne was an amiable very likeable person who saw the good in people and situations. This is evident in his family he raised and the love so many people had for Wayne. There is comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue to live on in his children and grandchildren. Our thoughts have been with you all during these past difficult days. We hope that all those many cherished memories of Wayne will not be forgotten and will live on in all those who knew him. With Sympathy, From all of us at Hearthwood Dog and Cat Clinic

I am a fairly recent addition to the Belden extended family, and I can say I feel so lucky to have known Wayne, even though it was not for nearly long enough. When I first met him, I was welcomed as if I had been around for years! He was always right there with a big hug, smiling and joking around...he will be missed very much by me and my husband (Wayne's nephew) and my heart goes out to his family and friends that have lost such a wonderful man in their lives.

During the early 1970's I worked with Wayne at the Jantzen Beach Wards store in the Receiving Department. I was just a kid out of high school learning the ropes of "working for a living". Wayne befriended me and through his kindness and great sense of humor showed me how to cope with difficult people.
I've always remembered him for teaching me to look for the good things in the human race.

Thanks "Sarge".

MY DEEPEST SINCERE SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO PHYLLIS, AND THE BELDON FAMILY. WAYNE WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL CARING MAN, AND A GREAT FRIEND. WAYNE WOULD COME INTO ROSIES EVERY DAY THAT I WORKED THERE WITH A HUGE SMILE ON HIS FACE WILLING TO TALK TO EVERYONE. PHYLLIS, YOU, AND WAYNE WERE 2 OF MY FAVORITE CUSTOMERS. AFTER ROSIES, I STILL SAW THE TWO OF YOU AT THE PLAINSMAN.I WAS EXTREMELY SADDENED WHEN I HEARD OF WAYNE'S PASSING. MAY HE REST IN PEACE IN THE ARMS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND MAY GOD BE WITH, AND BLESS YOU, AND THE FAMILY.
SINCERELY SANDI
