MATTHEW S. WILLIAMS
July 9, 1964 ~ January 25, 2017
Matthew Williams of Battle Ground, WA, passed away January 25, 2017. The son of Ralph Williams and Lydia Casey, he graduated from Prairie High School in 1982.
Matt worked for 20 years at Georgia Pacific Camas Paper Mill as a machine operator and retired after 20 years.
He enjoyed mountain biking, swimming and working out at the YMCA and fishing at Spear Fish. He loved the beach and was an awesome Jeopardy player!
Matt loved and cherished spending time with his children and sharing in their activities which included volleyball, 4-H equestrian, sheep and wool, motorcross, and high school equestrian activities.
He was a member of the Church of Holy Spirit and a Union Member of AWPPW Local #5, as well as part of numerous 4-H clubs and the Clark County Fair.
Matthew had a big heart and was an inspiration
to many who knew him. He always wanted to
put a smile on someone's face.
Matt is survived by his longtime companion, Tammy Palmer of Battle Ground; his father, Ralph Williams of Vancouver, WA; mother, Lydia Casey (Paul Bourland) of Vancouver; brother, David Williams of Vancouver; and his children, Brittney Williams (David Sosa) of Battle Ground, Zachary Williams and Alexandria Williams, both of Woodland; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in this area and in New Hampshire.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Church of Holy Spirt, 2400 NW 9th Ave, Battle Ground, with internment service to follow for those who wish to attend at Camas Cemetery, 640 NE Oak St., Camas. Additionally, there will be a Celebration of Life party at Jollie's Restaurant and Lounge, 17701 NE Union Rd., Ridgfield at 6:00 p.m., the same day.
Memorial donations may be made to the North County Food Bank, SW Washington Humane Society or 4-H Club of Clark County.

Gone too soon. I have so many good memories working with Matt at James River Paper Mill during the summers while in college. He had such a great sense of humor and full of life.
I would love to sit down with him and reminisce of our good times. He was a good man.

We were so shocked and sadden to hear of Matt's passing. We've had so many good times together and so many wonderful memories to look back on. Especially our trip to Disneyland and all the baseball games. I pray that God will be with all of you during this difficult time.
