WILLIAM LIONEL KESLING, SR.
December 7, 1943 ˜ July 15, 2020

William “Bill” Kesling, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 15th in Vancouver, WA with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Portland, Oregon, the only child of Ruth and Elmer Kesling, who he now joins. Bill graduated from Madison High School in 1961 and served the US Army until he was honorably discharged in 1968.
He met Marialice Sanders at the Portland Rose Festival and then married the love of his life and soulmate on December 3, 1966. They moved to Vancouver the summer of 1967 where he worked as a Lab Tech for Alcoa and then ACPC before he retired in 1998 and was also a Foster Parent with his wife for over 30 years. Bill was a Christian and dedicated family man who is cherished by many, known for his infectious smile, and always helping others in need. He had many interests and hobbies over the years and is remembered for the beautiful stained-glass gifts he made for loved ones. Bill genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends, driving his motor home while traveling to beaches and campgrounds all over the Pacific NW and square dancing with his wife for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marialice of 54 years; son, Lyn Kesling (Kirsten); daughter, AnnMarie Dickson; brother-in-law, Rick Sanders (Gail); sisters-in-law, Marilynn Hurley and Sandy Sanders. Proud Papa and friend to 4 grandchildren, Will and Megan Kesling, Cooper and Brodie Dickson and their father, Doug Dickson; 7 nieces, 9 nephews and 35 great-nieces and nephews.
He is reunited with two granddaughters, Erica and Jennifer Kesling; and his beloved dog, Sofee, whose ashes were lovingly placed by his side.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private graveside service was held on July 22nd at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
