So sad to see that Verda has passed. She was a formidable woman who was very independent. She would be out walking year round. The Friends of The Carpenter truck was frequently at her door picking up the numerous donations she would make. She took pride in her home and yard, always pulling a weed here or there. She loved the spring lilac blooms from the four lilac bushes we planted on that side of the house. Verda kept to herself though she loved it when she had a dancing partner. She would dress in her finest (always tasteful) clothing and go to the Lupke center to kick up her heels. Every once in a while we would talk, standing in our front yards. I knew her for 13 years. I hope these fond memories of you will bring a smile to your face. Rest peacefully dear Verda.

We lived next door to Verda for over 13 years, until Sept 2017. Verda was treat to be neighbors with. At her age, mowing her lawn, yard work, gardening, watching our place when we were gone, saving our mail. Our pets used to watch her from the window, she'd talk to them as she worked. I enjoyed helping her with the lawn in hot weather, shoveling her walk and driveway in the winter. We still miss her. Rest well, Verda!
