SOLWAY JOHANSEN MICKELSON
January 30, 1938 ˜ January 19, 2019
Solway Mickelson died on January 19, 2019 at the age of 80 in Vancouver, Washington, following a long illness. She was born on January 30, 1938 in Portland, Oregon.
Solway graduated from WSU, Pullman in 1960. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church and was active in the Sons of Norway.
She was an avid reader, a gardener, a traveler, a hiker, and a golfer. She cherished her family and her friends and she loved the Lord.
Ms. Mickelson is survived by her siblings, Shirley Mowry and Ken Johansen (Donna); brother-in-law, Wes Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Walker; and her parents, Mary and Just Johansen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3p.m. on Saturday, January 26th at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8310 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver, Washington, 98664.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Safe Haven program.

We were so sorry to hear of Solway's passing. She was a wonderful and helpful friend to our Mother, Inez Olin, in her final years. She will be fondly remembered and not forgotten. Rest in peace, Solway.

Our family was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Solway. Her faith and devotion to her friends was extraordinary. Solway served both of our parents with unconditional love and respect. We hope and pray she received the same in her time of need. Thank you Solway.
