SARAH A. SCHULZ
December 22, 1926 ˜ April 22, 2020
Sarah A. Schulz, 93, passed away peacefully in Vancouver, WA on the evening of April 22, 2020. She was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Richmond, CA, to Frealon and Ruth Bibbins. Her life was filled with many moves from place to place as she followed her husband’s career. She was homemaker to three daughters, Sandra, Claudia and Edith.
Sarah loved making quilts. She made several quilts that commemorated memorable family vacations with subtle humor and wit. Growing up in a musical family, Sarah loved making up little songs and ditties to entertain her daughters. Some of those are still remembered and sung by her family.
After Hal’s retirement, the couple built their dream home in Placerville, CA. They loved their huge garden and views of the valley and far off Sierras.
After Hal’s death, Sarah moved to Vancouver, WA to be closer to family. She spent her days quilting, gardening, watching movies and reading her beloved Jane Austen books.
In addition to her 3 daughters, Sarah leaves behind 4 beloved granddaughters, Megan, Amelia, Robyn and Katie, and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Schulz (’25-’08); and 2 siblings, Ruth Gerwer and Norden Bibbins.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for Sarah in the last months of her life. She is dearly missed by her family and she will be celebrated at a later date.
