Neil Albert Oliver, 64, of Carson, Washington, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at home, from complications due to Lewy Body Dementia.
Neil was born in Portland, Oregon to Anthony (Tony) and Elizabeth (Bette) Oliver on January 17, 1956. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1974.
Neil went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the U. S. Forest Service for 31 1/2 years, retiring in 2011.
He was proud to be a part of the 1976 “Bike” Centennial Celebration, riding a bicycle coast-to-coast from Oregon to Virginia.
Neil married Darice Magnuson on May 12, 1984 in Corvallis Oregon, and they moved to Carson in 1990.
He was an active member of the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Neil is survived by his wife, Darice of Carson; son, Nathan of Hudson, Wisconsin; daughter, Michelle of Shaker Heights, Ohio; siblings, Elaine (Pat) Keavney of Oregon City, Oregon, Ron (Nita) Oliver and Gordon (Pat) Oliver of Portland, Oregon, Dave (Nancy) Oliver of Boise, Idaho; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Bette; and his infant brother, Stephen Oliver.
A private graveside service was held at Wind River Memorial Cemetery in Carson on May 4. A Catholic funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held, date to be determined.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Stevenson, WA, or to Inspiring Hospice Foundation (Heart of Hospice - Hood River, OR).

With sympathy for your loss. Susie worked with Neil at Zone II. Sorry he had such a long illness. He was always one of the nice guys and very respectful. Sincerely

We are so Sorry for your loss, Ron and Nita. Your brother looked so much like you, Ron. And, I imagine him as just as sweet as you. Bless you both in your time of loss and grieving. Love and hugs from us both, Patty and Steve.
