Friends and Relatives Of Mavis Malbon; I have so many memories of "Miss Malbon," (as we were instructed to address our teachers). Miss Malbon was my 8th Grade teacher at Arleta Grade School in 1963. As a teacher and mentor, she, opened my eyes to creative writing along with many other things. She stood up for me against another teacher and for that I will always be grateful. She was kind but not easy by any means! I looked for her for years so I could tell her how much she influenced me, little did I know she was close by Vancouver, where I live. How close we were!
She was a grand lady, friend, and mentor... may she rest in peace!!

Mavis was a neighbor and co-worker of mine at Menlo Park School. The school was very lucky to have Mavis as a counselor. The teachers and students benefited from her dedicated service to all of us at Menlo. She mentioned her nieces and nephews often as an important part of her life. Rest in Peace, Mavis.
