Julia Diane Houck passed away at her home in Union, WA on May 1st, 2020.
Julia was born in Vancouver on January 31st, 1950 to Francis and Janet Kramer. She lived most of her life in Southwest Washington where she graduated from Washougal High School in 1968.
Julia then went on to attend Western Washington University where she graduated in 1972. It was there she met her husband of 47 years, Don Houck.
Julia worked at both HP and PacifiCorp where she made lifelong friends. She also enjoyed her time as a long haul truck driver for Gordon Trucking.
Julia had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed traveling to Italy, Mexico, Hawaii and throughout the US, and she never missed an opportunity to quilt with friends. Julia was happiest when she was with her family, especially her two grandsons, Oliver and Miles.
Julia is survived by her husband, Don; their daughters, Amanda of Portland, OR and Emily (Trevor Karnofski) of Gettysburg, PA; and her sister, Shirley Holdsworth of Casa Grande, AZ.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; and younger sister, Susan Craig.

I was so sorry to hear about Julia's passing. I knew her from working with her at HP and quilting with her in our quilt group. We enjoyed your visiting us when you passed through Arizona a couple of years ago. I thought she was a very brave woman to take up driving a long haul truck, she had guts for sure. She was a joy for sure. Best wishes and precious memories.

I am saddened to hear of Julia's death this month. I so much enjoyed working with Julia at HP and being part of a quilting circle with her. Julia had a wonderful sense of humor and was one of the kindest women I've had the pleasure to know. She was just a delight to be around. God bless...

Don, Amanda Emily and family, we were filled with sadness when we heard of Julie's passing. Being your neighbors all those years and watching our kids grow up together seems like just yesterday! She was a wonderful mom to the girls and a friend to us and we will always think of her with fondness. May God comfort you in your time of grieving. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Julie, your smile and laughter warmed all of our hearts but more than anything your nonjudgmental attitude filled with kindness, caring and compassion shall be remembered. We had great times together throughout our high school years which I shall always cherish. I love you my forever friend.
