Gloria Gladson Obituary

GLORIA GLADSON
April 9, 1939 ˜ June 14, 2020

Gloria Ann (Miller) Gladson passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Vancouver, WA. She was 81. Born in Oakes, ND to Amanda and Edwin Miller, Gloria grew up in California and Clark County, WA. She graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School, where she played volleyball and was a cheerleader.
Gloria married Bob Gladson in 1959 in Reno, NV on the 4th of July.
She worked as a food service assistant in the Vancouver School District from 1983 until she retired in 1995. Gloria enjoyed the camaraderie with her coworkers and always served students a healthy meal with a smile.
Her baking skills were legendary, with cinnamon rolls and lemon meringue pie being specialties, and her home cooked Thanksgivings were always a feast. Gloria cherished spending time with her grandchildren in the kitchen making chocolate chip cookies and other treats.
She loved camping in the summers with her family. Her favorite spots were Detroit Lake, Cove Palisades, and the Oregon Coast. In later years, she took frequent trips to Reno with her husband.
Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for others and never expected anything in return. She will be dearly missed.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; her four children, Denise Riehl of University Place, WA, Leland (Tammy) Gladson of Vancouver, WA, Nell (Jay Salmon) Gladson of San Diego, CA, and Lynn (Brett) Busby of Ridgefield, WA; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Riehl and Leah Busby.
Private interment was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Not sure what to say?

We are so sorry and Very saddened with the passing of our Aunt Gloria. Our thoughts and prayers are sure with you Bob and your Family. She will, no doubt be missed. It was so nice when Rochelle and my twin brother Rickey and I went to visit her and Bob when her sister Alice was on her last days. Gloria shared many good memories from their younger days growing up.Gloria even talked about our dear old preacher Ole Hendrickson. She mentioned that she even remembers some of his teachings. Was such a nice visit with them.
Take care and may God bless you all.

Loved working with her on Salmon Creek. I could believe it when she told me Bob filled her car up when ever she needed gas. She is missed.

Aunt Gloria.
She and Mom used to tell the story how, when they were teens, they had cleaned the entire house and Grandpa Miller came in, tracked his dirty boots across the entry, and tossed his hat on the table. Furious, Aunt Gloria suddenly grabbed Grandpas hat, threw it to the floor and stomped on it!! Love that story!
When I think of Aunt Gloria and the Gladsons, I think of summer sunsets in their front yard, hanging with Denise, Leland, Nell and Lynn.
Rest In Peace Aunt Gloria. Say hi to Mom...
