CAROLE MARGOT (SORENSEN) HERMAN
January 19, 1938 ~ November 4, 2012
Carole Margot (Sorensen) Herman passed away peacefully in the evening of November 4, 2012 with family by her side. Carole was born on January 19, 1938 in Great Falls, Montana. Carole graduated from Havre High School in 1956 and attended Northern Montana College for two years. She spent a year with Mrs. F.A. "Jane" Buttrey in Phoenix and attended Arizona State College in Tempe before returning to Havre and completing her bachelor of science secondary education degree with a major in English. She taught in Kremlin, Montana, then taught in military high schools in Germany, Korea and Iceland before taking a teaching position in Washougal, Washington. After starting a family with her husband, Loren, Carole worked in the resource room at Lincoln Elementary in Vancouver, Washington and later as office aide at Shumway Junior High School and Discovery Middle School, also in Vancouver, Washington.
Her younger brother Alan remembers her as a loving big sister who traveled the world, spent a year in Arizona with Jane Buttrey, was a women's libber before there were women's libbers, was a genius of the first order, and was equally adept at shorthand and piano.
Carole was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sally and Si; and by her husband, Loren.
She is survived by her brothers, Scott and Alan; her sons, Matt and Chad; her daughters-in-law, Stacey and Dyanna; and five grandchildren, Sonia, Eli, Clara, Maggie, and Nora.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
Donations in Carole's name can be made to Ray Hickey Hospice House, 2112 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA, 98661.

Carole and Loren were both patients in our Vancouver Dental Office for many years... I had the pleasure of getting to know both of them so well, we loved talking "college basketball" thru and thru. They will be missed by me especially. Georgie, their RDH. Peace!
