"Amazing Grace"
"Norbert was brilliant, unique, gentle and sincere."

Norbert Louis Richter, an Irish German Catholic/Celtic, who was a very special loving Man of God, and a wonderful Father and Husband; left us peacefully this summer and was picked up by Angels from Heaven and delivered to God to make a place for the love of his life, our Mother, Arlene Richter, who is our special Angel on Earth. He was born in Cedar Rapids, IA to Louis and Marie Richter.
Norbert attended Holy Cross Seminary at Notre Dame University and later was an Air Force veteran.
He was a bee keeper and enjoyed music, chess, pets, nature hikes, birds, flowers, wildlife and gardening clubs.
Norbert is survived by his former wife, Arlene; sons, Chris, Greg and Mike Richter; daughter, Jennifer Aleman; grandchildren, JonEric and Carly Christenson, and family Mike and Sim Giles. Dad had a special place in his heart for wonderful friends, Suzanne and Marie.
"We cherish you and look forward to the day
that we will all be together in heaven. We know
you are holding a place for us among the stars,
you remain in our hearts forever, until we see you again, keep on shining…per ardua ad astra."
Special thanks to Suzanne and the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
Memorial services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, Wed., Sept. 12, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. with Military Honors.
