LOREN RONALD SCHIRMER

Loren Ronald Schirmer died of a stroke on Aug. 31, 2011 in Hilton Head, SC, where he had resided for the last two years. Before South Carolina, he lived in Escondido, CA for 18 years. He was born April 13,1939 in Portland, OR to Arthur and Alice Schirmer.
Ron was a salesman for Aid Association for Lutherans, manager for Sun Life of Canada, before founding Pathway Lutheran Ministries 18 years ago.
Ron is survived by his wife, Mary, of 42 years; and seven children, Chris von Schirmer of Vancouver, WA, Darwin von Schirmer of Vancouver, WA, Jeffrey Schirmer of Hilton Head, SC, Laurie Wright of Naperville, IL, Aaron Schirmer of Oakland, CA, Michael Schirmer of San Francisco, CA and Jill Roehl of Winchester, CA; and 14 grandchildren.
Ron will be buried in Escondido at Community Lutheran Church where a memorial service will also take place on Oct. 15th.

Ron, you were the best. You will be so very missed by all who knew you. You touched so many people in so many ways. We were all so lucky to have been family because of you. You seemed to be the golden thread that ran through each Schirmer relative. Rest softly Ron and know that you are loved and will be missed.
