November 24, 1919 - June 19, 2011

Fred Riler of Vancouver, WA, passed away on June 19, 2011 at the age of 91. Fred was born in Paris, France on November 24, 1919, to Fred James and Clotilde Riler.
His family moved to the United States in 1922, eventually settling in Portland, Oregon. After graduating from St. Stephens High School and attending the University of Southern California, Fred joined the Army Air Corp in 1942 and became a World War II pilot, serving in North Africa and Italy during 1943 - 1945. He met his wife, Loretta, in Phoenix, AZ, during Air Corp training, and they were married in that city on May 22, 1943.
Fred worked for 41 years at First National Bank / First Interstate Bank, holding numerous executive positions until his retirement in 1983. He was an avid golfer, and dedicated to both his family and his faith.
He is survived by his sister, Marguerite Gedrose of Portland, and three sons, Fred Jr. (Jeannie) of Issaquah, WA, Bob (Marcia) of Tacoma, WA, and Dan of Camas, WA; grandchildren Stephanie of Issaquah, Melissa of Seattle, and Erica and Courtney of Camas.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Loretta, who passed away in 1997.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday June 24, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vancouver, followed by a private grave side service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Portland, OR.
